One of the big stories of 2012 has been the growing popularity of bundle offers, whereby customers are offered a group of products at a discounted price. The likes of Humble Bundle have shown that this sales model can work for ebooks, and now Ganxy is making it easier (via) for authors (including indie authors) to offer bundles of their own titles.
Using Ganxy, authors can now set up offers such as a ‘two for one’ deal or a limited time ‘flash’ sale. These things are technically possible to achieve via sites such as Amazon if the relevant files are combined, but Ganxy makes it easier by letting authors keep the files separate while still offering the deals. Ganxy takes 10% of net sales.
Ganxy is ramping up its range of services for authors, having launched a variety of new ideas earlier this year. It remains to be seen whether the likes of Amazon and Barnes & Noble opt to enable bundling for indie authors, though it certainly seems that consumers respond favourably to these types of deal.
